Alltask undertakes a significant project for client ISG Retail Limited, involving the complete internal refurbishment of a large Lloyds Banking office block.
The project, which commenced in December 2023, encompasses nine floors and spans 195,000 sq ft of office space. The project focuses on renovating the entire interior of the building, including a full internal birdcage in the atrium and access to all riser shafts at 33 Old Broad Street.
The refurbishment initiative involves stripping out and refurbishing all nine floors, as well as working on the basement and roof levels. ISG has been on-site since April 2023, with a scheduled completion date of December 2024. In addition to office refurbishment, the project aims to replace all plant machinery with more energy-efficient and sustainable elements.
Alltask has played a crucial role in the project by erecting and dismantling Haki staircases, atrium birdcages, and riser access scaffolds. The sequence of works was carefully planned.
Multiple areas of risers on the project have been built using tube and fitting scaffolding, tailored to compliance sheets to eliminate the need for design. Alltask erected the first platforms, followed by progressive collaboration to clear debris off scaffolds before proceeding with the next lifts.
The Atrium Birdcage Scaffold is erected in Haki system scaffold. The atrium birdcage scaffold is designed to be freestanding, eliminating the need for fixed ties.
