Alltask supported a number of apprenticeship events during the National Apprenticeship Week providing us with a great opportunity to interact with young people and learn about their future goals and the opportunities Alltask can offer them through our trainee programme.
We attended the JobsFest hosted by Simian at the London Academy of Sustainable Construction, offering opportunities to students and residents in East London, and the Careers Fair at Thomas Aveling School in Rochester. We presented at the school assembly at Waterfront UTC in Gillingham and spoke to a number of young people at the Apprenticeship Matching Event hosted by CXK Ltd at MidKent College.
It has been a busy couple of months for Jim in the lead up to the National Apprenticeship Week. On the schools front, Jim has been assisting with their student career progression activities providing an insight into the scaffolding trade and career opportunities within Alltask. Jim attended Careers Fairs at Strood Academy and Thomas Aveling with Mark Wasway, Breakfast Networking events at Brompton Academy and Speed Networking events at Lea Manor and Chiltern Academy in Luton. Jim also presented to a whole school assembly at the Robert Napier School. He continues to develop a structured pathway from education into the company that will see interested students attend a site visit whilst in year 11, conduct work experience in year 13 before potentially joining the company once they leave education. In addition to the schools work, Jim continues to explore potential talent in the local Job Centres and has presented at 2 Sector-based Work Academy Programmes – a collaboration between local councils and MidKent College delivering construction awareness to those on Universal Credit.
