The Alltask Insulation and Scaffold divisions are delighted to announce their selection by EVT (Entrepose Contracting, VINCI Construction, and Taylor Woodrow) to provide cryogenic insulation and temporary access solutions for the pipework installation required at the new LNG tank on the Isle of Grain, facilitating its integration with the existing facility.
Already underway, the £175 million contract aims to expand the capacity of Europe’s largest LNG terminal. This initiative includes the construction of a 190,000 m3 liquefied natural gas reservoir, a pivotal component of the terminal’s capacity expansion program.
The new full containment tank, comparable in size to the Royal Albert Hall in London, features a 9% nickel steel inner tank within a pre-stressed concrete outer shell, poured in-situ using slipforming techniques.
The new LNG tank is similar in design to the three completed over a decade ago.
